Jamaica is one of the largest islands (third by territory) in Caribbean Sea, being also one of the most popular vacation spots in the region. It attracts a very large number of holiday makers from North America (especially from USA and Canada, but also from Europe and particularly UK) with awesome beaches covered by white-sand, exciting activities (waters around the islands hide a large variety of marine species and coral reefs, therefore scuba diving and snorkeling are extremely rewarding), interesting landmarks and points of interests and very convenient vacation packages to high end hotels, very demanded amongst foreign travelers being the all inclusive accommodation deals. A another reason why Jamaica benefit on high popularity on the international travel scene is the wonderful weather and the low variation of temperatures between seasons – the difference between summer and winter is just 10 degrees Fahrenheit!

Situated in the Greater Antilles, Jamaica is characterized by a tropical weather, which is generally warm and humid. The average temperatures vary between 80 – 90 degrees Fahrenheit (27 – 32 degrees Celsius), the highest ones being registered in July and August, while the lowest occur in February. The tropical climate has only two seasons, one wet and one dry. The largest quantity of rain falls in the intervals May - June and October - November (sometines extending to December), while the high hurricane season is officially from 1 st June to 30th November, the largest chances of forming hurricanes in Jamaica's region being in August and September, yet direct hits on Jamaica by major storms are very rare. To convince tourists about the very good weather, most beach resorts in Jamaica offer nowadays the so called "no hurricane guarantees" and as result there is an increasing number of foreign travelers who chose to spend vacations on this island in the official hurricane season.

But when is the best time to visit Jamaica? Because of the low temperature variations, generally the island is great at any time because the beaches are welcoming year-round and the water offers excellent conditions to swimmer, scuba divers and other water sports enthusiasts. Yet, because many people aren't correctly informed about the real danger of hurricanes or about what means winter in a tropical region, in the rainy seasons and the peak hurricane months the number of holiday makers is lower and as result most tourist resorts and hotels in Jamaica provide promotional room rates and luring travel deals, for this reason being sometimes available 5-star all inclusive vacation packages at prices corresponding usually to 3-star accommodation deals!

There are several Jamaican resorts located on seaside like Montego Bay, Negril or Ocho Rios which benefit on a very high appreciation amongst foreign tourists and as result most hotels and accommodation complexes settled there are generally crowded. In fact, in the peak season (from mid-December to mid-April, when is winter in Caribbean) all beaches teeming by thousands of tourists, holiday attractions can't be enjoyed in peace and vacation packages are expensive. The low season in Jamaica is during the Caribbean summer, when occur rainfalls and can forming hurricanes. Savvy travelers don't think on when is the best time visiting this island for beach holidays because know that today the weather forecast can predict with high accuracy the evolution of any heavy storm and also know that the rainy season means several brief rain showers in the afternoon. After all, when on the international travel scene and most agencies are available all inclusive packages to Jamaica cheaper with 40-50% as in the top months, what matters a few drops of rain on the hot sandy beaches?
